Job Summary:

The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining residential and commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently in the field while upholding company standards of safety, quality, and professionalism. Technicians will primarily respond to service calls but will also do planned maintenance and/or installation as needed.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Perform service, troubleshooting, and repair on HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, and geothermal systems.
Conduct routine maintenance and system tune-ups to ensure peak performance.
Diagnose equipment issues and recommend appropriate repairs or replacement solutions.
Install replacement parts and calibrate system controls as needed.
Communicate clearly with customers, explaining system issues, repair options, and maintenance recommendations.
Document all work performed, parts used, and recommendations in service tickets or dispatch software.
Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in good working condition.
Follow company safety policies and OSHA regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
Participate in ongoing training to maintain industry certifications and technical knowledge.
Provide emergency service after hours as part of an on-call rotation (as assigned).
Always explain to the client what service you are performing. Explain and show the client how the company provides superior service.
Establish rapport with clients to sell the right products and services.
Re-check all repairs and installations after you’ve repaired or replaced it, before leaving the client’s home to ensure everything is working properly and the client knows how to operate the system properly
Maintain your truck so that it is always neat and clean on the inside and outside. The truck is one of the best billboards that the company has. Park the truck for the maximum impact of the “billboard” when possible.
Always be safety conscious both on the job and while driving.

Qualification/Skills/Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or HVAC training program preferred.
2+ years of HVAC service experience (residential or commercial).
EPA Section 608 Certification required.
Additional certifications (NATE, geothermal, manufacturer-specific) preferred.
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical components, and controls.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions.

Travel:

Travel is expected for this position.
