Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Commercial Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across commercial construction sites and renovation projects. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards and electrical codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC). Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment in commercial buildings following blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and schematics to ensure accurate installation of electrical systems.
- Use hand tools, power tools, multimeters such as ohmmeters, and other testing devices to diagnose electrical issues effectively.
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, and high voltage circuits to support complex industrial and commercial applications.
- Follow NEC standards and local electrical codes to ensure safe and compliant installations.
- Collaborate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades like frame carpentry or handyman services during renovation or new construction projects.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems on construction sites to identify potential hazards or deficiencies before they escalate.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including installation procedures, test results, and compliance documentation.
Qualifications
- Valid journeyman electrician license with proven experience in commercial electrical work.
- Extensive industrial electrician experience is highly desirable; familiarity with industrial controls is a plus.
- Strong background in construction site environments with the ability to adapt quickly to changing project needs.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams essential for accurate installation.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing equipment required for troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of low voltage wiring systems as well as high voltage circuits for diverse applications.
- Ability to work safely at heights or in confined spaces while adhering to safety protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance and repairs.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
