Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Commercial Journeyman & Apprentice Electricians to join our team and drive excellence in electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs across various commercial construction projects. Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems in commercial buildings using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute electrical layouts and wiring plans.
- Work with low voltage systems such as security alarms, communication lines, and control panels, ensuring proper integration with high voltage systems.
- Use testing devices like ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues and verify system integrity according to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Operate programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation tasks within industrial or commercial settings.
- Collaborate with construction teams on site to ensure electrical work aligns with project timelines and safety protocols.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical installations during renovation projects or new builds to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Read and interpret schematics and technical documents to facilitate accurate wiring and system setup.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspection reports and compliance documentation.
- Assist with framing carpentry or handyman tasks as needed to support overall project progress.
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial electrician with a solid understanding of electrical systems in construction or renovation environments.
- Hands-on experience working on construction sites, including framing carpentry or general handyman tasks is advantageous.
- Familiarity with industrial electrician practices, including working with high voltage (up to 600V) systems.
- Skilled in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and troubleshooting using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Knowledge of NEC regulations related to commercial electrical installations for safety and compliance purposes.
- Experience working with low voltage systems like security alarms or communication networks is preferred.
- Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently while adhering to safety standards at all times.
