The role
We are seeking a Protestant Religious Education Coordinator to support the Luke AFB Chapel in Arizona.
Working approximately 80–100 hours per month, you will coordinate, organize, and facilitate Protestant religious education activities while working closely with the Lead Chaplain, chapel staff, volunteers, and families.
As the Protestant Religious Education Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to shape programs, organize memorable events such as Vacation Bible School, and create a welcoming environment where the Protestant community can learn and connect.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Develop and maintain the Protestant Religious Education program.
- Recruit, train, coordinate, and support program volunteers.
- Prepare annual calendars, budgets, schedules, and program recommendations.
- Coordinate religious education classes, activities, and special events.
- Lead and facilitate Vacation Bible School or an equivalent annual program.
- Maintain attendance records, volunteer rosters, budgets, inventories, and program reports.
- Help advertise approved programs and upcoming events.
- Ensure facilities are prepared, clean, secure, and ready for activities.
- Attend meetings and provide updates on programs, events, and budgets.
- Ensure appropriate supervision and background-check requirements are followed when working with minors.

The person
The successful Protestant Religious Education Coordinator must have:
- At least two years of Protestant religious education leadership experience.
- Knowledge of Protestant doctrine and worship practices.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Clear written and verbal English communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Basic experience planning and managing budgets.
- The ability to work effectively within a multi-faith environment.
A background check is required due to regular involvement with individuals under 18.
