About the Role:
As a Plumbing Technician, you will install, service, and repair water softeners, drinking water systems, and solutions for problem water, ensuring every job meets code and company standards. You will diagnose and resolve issues efficiently, support other team members in the field, and represent the company professionally at all times. Your work will help customers achieve safe, reliable, and high-performing plumbing and water treatment systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics, analysis, and troubleshooting on water softeners, drinking water systems, and related equipment to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Install, upgrade, and maintain water treatment systems, piping, fixtures, and associated components to code-quality standards.
- Complete all required paperwork, service reports, and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist colleagues with the delivery, setup, and installation of products and equipment at customer sites.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in clean, safe, and operational condition.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, explaining work performed and system operation.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and applicable codes and regulations on every job.
- Support a positive public image of the company through courteous, professional on-site behavior.
Key Requirements:
- Proven plumbing experience with a strong focus on installation, service, and repair work.
- Hands-on experience with pipe installation and repair, fixture installation and maintenance, and use of plumbing tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Competence in soldering, brazing, and pipe joining for a variety of piping materials.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve plumbing and water treatment system issues independently.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with customers and completing documentation.
- Physical ability to lift and move equipment weighing 50–75 lbs and perform work in various field conditions.
- Consistent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, code-compliant workmanship.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience specifically with water softeners, drinking water systems, and problem water solutions.
- Prior background in residential or light commercial water treatment installations.
- Familiarity with modern diagnostic tools and testing equipment for water quality and system performance.
- Experience working within a team under a licensed plumbing contractor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum two years of plumbing installation and maintenance experience preferred.
- Experience working under or alongside a P-1 licensed contractor is an advantage.
- Relevant plumbing trade courses, vocational training, or certifications in plumbing or water treatment (preferred).
