THE POSITION:
Performs a wide variety of skilled, journey-level duties in the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and related facilities equipment. FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt Working Conditions: May work shifts on days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
REQUIREMENTS: Education and Work Experience: Equivalent to high school diploma/GED and two (2) years of journey-level experience in one or more of the trades.
Licensing and Certification: Must possess and maintain a valid Class C Driver's License at time of application.
Medical Examination: Employment with the Regional Transportation Commission is contingent upon the results of a physical examination performed by our examining physician. A pre-employment drug test is part of the examination.
Background Investigation: Employment with the Regional Transportation Commission in this position is contingent upon completion of a comprehensive background investigation, including qualifying education/experience verification, criminal history records review and driving history records check.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical ability to perform maintenance, construction and related work, including operating hand and power equipment; stamina to stand and walk for extended periods of time; strength to lift and maneuver materials and equipment weighing up to 70 pounds with proper equipment; vision to read printed materials; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: Monitors, maintains and performance standard repairs to building electrical facilities and systems. Monitors performance of heating, ventilation, and cooling systems for facilities; performs standard repair/replacement of components as appropriate. Monitors and performs maintenance of plumbing systems for facilities. Assist with oversight of contracted services. Performs carpentry maintenance tasks for facilities. Performs preventative maintenance on a variety of building operational systems. Operate computer hardware and associated software applications. May perform general maintenance, custodial and trash removal tasks as required. Drives vehicle to work sites and transports materials and supplies as required. Maintains records of activities performed and materials utilized and replenishes supplies. All other duties as assigned.
