Traveling Electrical Foreman (Nationwide Projects)
Pay: $90,000 – $120,000 per year (based on experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Traveling Electrical Foreman to lead commercial and industrial electrical projects across the United States. This is a full-time travel position requiring extended stays at out-of-state job sites.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, safety-driven, and capable of leading large crews while maintaining productivity, quality, and strict compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements.
This is not a local position — consistent out-of-state travel is required.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Supervision
- Lead and supervise journeymen and apprentices on commercial and industrial job sites
- Plan, delegate, and coordinate daily tasks to meet project milestones
- Maintain productivity, morale, and accountability among crew members
Project Execution & Planning
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications
- Plan labor, materials, and equipment needs in advance
- Oversee installation of conduit (including large-diameter), wiring, switchgear, lighting, and other electrical systems
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports and as-built drawings
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce OSHA standards and NFPA 70E arc flash safety protocols
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and job hazard analyses
- Ensure proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures are followed
- Maintain strict adherence to NEC and local AHJ codes
Quality Control & Coordination
- Perform routine inspections to ensure quality workmanship
- Coordinate with General Contractors and other trades to resolve conflicts and scheduling challenges
- Maintain strong communication with project management
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 3–5+ years in a foreman or leadership role on commercial or industrial projects
- Crew Management: Proven experience leading crews of 30–40 electricians
- Licensing: Kansas Journeyman or Master Electrician License preferred
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced conduit bending (including large-diameter)
- Blueprint and schematic interpretation
- Experience using project management software (Procore, Bluebeam, or similar)
- Travel Requirement:
- Willingness and ability to travel nationwide for extended project durations
- Ability to be away from home for multiple weeks at a time as projects require
- Flexibility to work varying schedules depending on project location and timeline
- Transportation: Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (company vehicle provided)
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work at heights on lifts/ladders, and work outdoors in varying conditions
Compensation & Benefits
