Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician to join our emergency response team. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electrical systems in residential and light commercial settings, with a strong emphasis on being available for on-call duties to handle urgent situations. The ideal candidate is dependable, skilled, and ready to provide high-quality service at any hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical diagnostics, repairs, and installations in multifamily units, elderly home facilities, and similar environments.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls, including after-hours and weekends, as part of an on-call rotation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with wiring, circuits, lighting, panels, and other electrical components.
- Ensure all work complies with local electrical codes, safety standards, and company protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on jobs.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with clients to explain issues and solutions.
- Assist in expanding services to commercial and industrial projects as opportunities arise.
- Operate and maintain a company-provided service truck, including inventory of tools and supplies.
Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical work, preferably in emergency or service-oriented roles.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems in multifamily and residential settings; experience with commercial/industrial work is a plus.
- Clean background check and valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Ability to work independently and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in various conditions.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
