Vigilant Healthcare Solutions is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to join a collaborative and highly respected facilities team. This is a long-term onsite contract opportunity in a complex hospital environment where safety, reliability, and quality workmanship are top priorities.
You will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair critical electrical systems supporting daily facility operations. This role requires strong technical judgment, the ability to work independently, and experience servicing high-voltage equipment and essential infrastructure.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain and repair motors, HVAC electrical components, alarms, lighting, medical and laboratory equipment, switchgear, transformers, and emergency power systems.
- Diagnose electrical problems using testing and diagnostic instruments.
- Install, modify, and repair electrical circuits, wiring, conduits, controls, and related equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance on motors, control systems, and other electrical infrastructure.
- Complete daily service reports, preventive-maintenance documentation, timecards, and status updates.
- Follow the National Electrical Code, OSHA requirements, facility procedures, and applicable safety standards.
What We’re Looking For
- Active Texas electrician license.
- Current OSHA certification.
- Journeyman-level experience maintaining and repairing commercial or institutional electrical systems.
- Knowledge of electrical hazards and safe work practices involving systems up to 4,160 volts AC.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and provide direction to helpers when needed.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including heavy lifting and working outdoors, in confined areas, and at heights.
- Willingness to complete required safety training, background screening, credentialing, and facility onboarding.
Schedule & Coverage
- Monday through Friday
- 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Full-time schedule of approximately 40 hours per week
- Overtime or work outside normal hours requires advance approval
Required personal protective equipment includes arc-rated or natural-fiber long pants and long-sleeve shirts, approved steel-toe work boots, hearing protection, and eye protection.
