Position Summary
The Fireplace Service Technician is responsible for cleaning, tuning, repairing, and maintaining gas, wood, and pellet fireplaces, as well as assisting with new installations. This role combines technical skill, safety awareness, and strong customer interaction. You’ll represent the company in customers’ homes, ensuring safe operation and high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities
Perform cleaning, diagnostics, tune-ups, and repairs on gas, wood, and pellet fireplaces
Assist with fireplace installations, venting, and related components
Identify opportunities for upsells, accessories, or safety upgrades
Maintain accurate service records and communicate findings to customers
Ensure all work meets safety standards, manufacturer guidelines, and company procedures
Operate company vehicle safely and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience servicing fireplaces
NFI certification preferred (Gas, Wood, or Pellet)
Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities
Good driving record and valid driver’s license
Ability to work evenings and weekends during peak season
Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights up to 35 feet
Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
Strong customer-facing communication skills
