The role
A long-established Architecture practice in Shelby, NC is looking for a mid-career Registered Architect to take on a visible leadership role, with a clear route into part ownership.
This is a full-time opportunity for someone with 10+ years’ experience who wants autonomy, variety and a meaningful place in the local community. Part ownership is expected to be discussed within around six months to one year for the right person.
Key Responsibilities
You will lead projects from Concept through to Construction Administration, working closely with clients, consultants, engineers, contractors and local officials.
Projects may include:
- Commercial design and tenant improvements
- Additions and alterations
- Municipal and public facilities
- Custom residential work
- Manufacturing and industrial buildings
- Religious and faith community projects
- You will manage timelines, budgets and project delivery, while helping guide the team and support the future direction of the firm.

The person
You will need:
- Active Registered Architect license, with NC license or reciprocity eligibility
- 10+ years’ Architecture experience
- Strong knowledge of all project phases
- Confidence working with clients, contractors and consultants
- AutoCAD skills
- Revit, Rhino, D5 Render or similar 3D visualization experience helpful
- NCARB certification preferred
- Historic preservation experience beneficial
