Protestant Director of Religious Education – $22 per Hour – Sigonella, Sicily, Italy

The role
We are looking for a Protestant Director of Religious Education to join the chapel community at Naval Air Station Sigonella in Sicily, Italy.
Working approximately 12 hours per week, you will coordinate Protestant religious education activities from Pre-K through high school. You will help create well-organized, welcoming programs where children and young people can learn, connect, and grow in their faith.
Key Responsibilities
As Protestant Director of Religious Education, you will:
- Coordinate Sunday School, Children’s Church, and Protestant Youth Group activities.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and support volunteer teachers and assistants.
- Prepare the annual Religious Education calendar.
- Help organize Vacation Bible School, Christmas and Easter programs, and other approved events.
- Maintain attendance records, ministry statistics, and program reports.
- Attend Religious Ministries Department meetings and coordinate with Protestant Chaplains.
- Manage curriculum materials, classroom supplies, and program inventories.
- Submit required monthly service statements and recorded hours.
- Report facility or safety concerns and coordinate purchase requests where required.

The person
We are looking for someone with:
- A bachelor’s degree or at least four years of documented religious program experience.
- Good knowledge of Protestant doctrine and religious education.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Confidence coordinating volunteers, activities, and multiple priorities.
- Legal authorization to live and work in Italy.
