About the Role
As an HVAC Technician on our Production and Assembly Line, you will play a key role in integrating, testing, and assembling high-end HVAC and thermal management components into Torus energy systems. You will focus on complex technical assembly tasks, refrigerant charging and recovery, precision testing, and maintenance of specialized manufacturing and facility climate equipment. Your technical expertise will ensure our energy infrastructure units meet rigorous quality, efficiency, and safety standards before leaving the production line.

Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC systems including rooftop units, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and building automation controls.
- Perform preventive maintenance, refrigerant recovery, and system diagnostics while ensuring compliance with EPA, OSHA, and local mechanical codes.
- Safely handle, test, charge, and recover refrigerants and high-end cooling equipment on the assembly line and facility operations.
- Read blueprints, wiring schematics, and equipment manuals to diagnose issues with commercially purchased and custom HVAC equipment.
- Communicate professionally with facility managers, production supervisors, and clients on-site, providing recommendations for repairs, replacements, and energy-efficiency improvements.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
Required Experience
- EPA 608 Certification (Universal preferred / required for refrigerant handling).
- Proven experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial HVAC systems (chillers, boilers, rooftop units, cooling towers, building automation).
- Demonstrated expertise in refrigerant recovery, charging, system diagnostics, and compliance with EPA, OSHA, and local mechanical codes.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, wiring schematics, piping diagrams, and technical equipment manuals.
- Strong written and verbal technical communication skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in a manufacturing, production, or assembly line environment.
- Familiarity with industrial cooling, thermal management, or liquid-cooling integration for energy storage systems.

Location + Travel The role is based in our Salt Lake Headquarters, GigaOne. May require occasional onsite work in our South Salt Lake R&D warehouse.
Schedule Full-Time, Hourly - 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday-Friday
Compensation $35/DOE (Note: We have the flexibility to hire at different levels, which may impact the corresponding pay range.)

Physical Requirements
- Must have the ability to safely lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be capable of standing, bending, and executing repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to read, identify, observe and recognize details, color-coding and fine print at close range on associated engineering drawings.
- Ability to don personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to, respiratory protective equipment with proper seal, coveralls, ear protection, gloves, eye protection & safety helmet.
- Ability to observe, detect and respond to audible and visual machine malfunction warnings.
- Ability to communicate information so others can understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Must report to work reliably and with the ability to use full and unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute your job.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English required.
