Overview
We are seeking skilled and motivated Journeyman and experienced Apprentice Commercial Electricians to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings. Duties
- Install, connect, test, and troubleshoot commercial and industrial electrical systems in accordance with electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Perform high-voltage electrical wiring and low-voltage system installations while adhering to NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards for safety and compliance.
- Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot complex electrical systems efficiently.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to guide installation and repair processes.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to ensure ongoing safety, functionality, and compliance with local electrical codes.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment safely to complete installations or repairs on construction sites or renovation projects.
- Follow all electrical safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents or hazards during installation or maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and team members to ensure timely project completion while maintaining high-quality standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician or a highly skilled Apprentice Electrician with industrial and commercial electrical background.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, high-voltage wiring, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and NFPA 70 compliance standards.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals accurately.
- Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting complex electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters.
- Familiarity with local electrical codes including NEC (National Electrical Code) requirements for safe installation practices.
- Experience working on construction sites or renovation projects within commercial or industrial environments.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, power meters, and other essential electrical equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong commitment to following electrical safety procedures to ensure personal safety and that of colleagues.
- Valid licensing or certification as a Journeyman Electrician; Apprentice candidates should possess relevant training or certification towards journeyman status.
