Service Technician Level II

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled HVAC Service Technician Level II to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial facilities. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of relevant experience, a solid understanding of HVAC systems, and the ability to perform service work under general supervision while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Install, service, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial buildings, offices, warehouses, and other facilities.
Install compressors, condensers, evaporators, ductwork, piping, and related HVAC components according to blueprints and technical specifications.
Cut, bend, thread, assemble, and connect refrigerant tubing and piping using appropriate tools and equipment.
Install and connect motors, compressors, thermostats, temperature controls, humidity controls, fans, and electrical control panels.
Diagnose system malfunctions and replace defective thermostats, switches, fuses, breakers, wiring, and other components.
Test HVAC systems using pressure gauges, vacuum gauges, electrical testing equipment, and leak detection methods.
Charge refrigeration systems with the appropriate refrigerant and verify operating pressures and system performance.
Install air and water filters, insulate piping, and ensure systems operate efficiently.
Perform routine preventive maintenance and identify potential equipment issues.
Follow applicable safety procedures, technical specifications, and industry standards.
Collaborate with team members and complete other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Apprenticeship certification with a Journeyman HVAC License, or equivalent qualifications.
2-5 years of HVAC service, installation, maintenance, or repair experience.
Knowledge of refrigeration principles, HVAC components, piping, ductwork, and basic electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, equipment specifications, and technical instructions.
Experience using HVAC service tools, gauges, and diagnostic equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot standard HVAC system issues and complete repairs under general supervision.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
Physical Requirements
Frequently climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and work in varying positions.
Frequently handle tools, equipment, and HVAC components.
Frequently use hands and fingers for installation, repair, and diagnostic tasks.
Frequently work outdoors and encounter vibration, dust, and fumes.
Occasionally work in extreme temperatures, wet or humid conditions, elevated locations, and areas with potential electrical hazards.
Ability to lift and carry tools, parts, and equipment as required by the job.
Work Environment
This position involves working at commercial and industrial facilities, including indoor and outdoor environments. Technicians may be exposed to moving mechanical equipment, dust, fumes, vibration, changing weather conditions, and occasional electrical hazards. Appropriate safety procedures and personal protective equipment must be followed.
