Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyperson Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both commercial and industrial electrical work, with a strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and safety regulations. This role involves working on various projects, including renovations and new construction, where you will apply your expertise in electrical installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine layout and installation procedures
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to complete electrical tasks
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using testing equipment such as ohmmeters and multimeters
- Work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation tasks
- Ensure high voltage and low voltage systems are installed correctly and functioning efficiently
- Collaborate with other trades on construction sites to ensure project timelines are met
- Perform renovations that require electrical modifications while adhering to safety standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area on construction sites
Skills
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician or commercial electrician
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools related to electrical work
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, including high voltage and low voltage applications
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documents accurately
- Knowledge of NEC regulations and safety practices in the electrical field
- Experience in renovation projects involving electrical installations is highly desirable
- Background in construction site experience is essential
- Frame carpentry skills or maintenance person experience can be beneficial
