We are looking for an HVAC Tech to join our team! You will install, service, and repair heating and air conditioning systems.

An HVAC Technician (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Technician) is a skilled professional responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of indoor climate control systems in commercial, or industrial buildings. While an installer focuses primarily on setting up new units, a technician often handles complex diagnostics and troubleshooting of existing equipment.

Core Responsibilities

System Diagnostics: Identifying mechanical and electrical failures in existing HVAC installations using specialized tools like multimeters and pressure gauges.
Maintenance: Performing routine inspections and seasonal tune-ups, which include cleaning coils, changing filters, and checking refrigerant levels.
Repair & Replacement: Fixing or replacing malfunctioning components such as compressors, fan motors, thermostats, and circuit boards.
Installation Support: Assembling and mounting new HVAC units, connecting them to fuel, water, or refrigerant sources, and installing electrical wiring.
Compliance & Safety: Ensuring all work meets local building codes and OSHA safety standards, particularly regarding hazardous refrigerant handling.
Customer Interaction: Explaining repair needs to clients, providing cost estimates, and recommending energy-efficient upgrades.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent is the minimum; most employers prefer completion of a postsecondary HVAC certificate or associate degree program.
Certification: EPA Section 608 Certification is mandatory for handling refrigerants. Optional but highly valued certifications include NATE (North American Technician Excellence).
Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of electrical circuits, refrigeration cycles, and the ability to read technical schematics or blueprints.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs, work in confined spaces (like attics or crawlspaces), and climb ladders.
Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, time management, and professional communication for client interactions.
