Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Service HVAC Technician with a valid Journeyman license to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, and mechanical systems across various commercial and residential properties. Your expertise will ensure optimal system performance, energy efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Duties
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment (including ammonia refrigeration), and related mechanical components.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and HVAC design documents to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions.
- Conduct field service operations such as troubleshooting mechanical failures, replacing faulty components, and performing preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment.
- Utilize diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and other testing devices to identify electrical or mechanical faults efficiently.
- Weld or perform equipment repair tasks as needed; operate tools such as welding equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete reports on repairs performed, system diagnostics, and parts used; communicate clearly with team members and clients regarding system status.
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining technical issues clearly and offering honest solutions.
- Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle and job site. Organization is key.
- Participate in a weekend on-call rotation as needed to support our client base.
Requirements
- Valid Journeyman license in HVAC or related mechanical trade is mandatory.
- Proven experience as a service technician specializing in HVAC systems with strong mechanical knowledge.
- Ability to read schematics and interpret HVAC design plans accurately.
- Knowledge of boiler operation, and general equipment repair techniques.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as multimeters; experience with bracing and equipment maintenance is desirable.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate a vehicle safely.
- Strong field service skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently in diverse environments.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced settings.
