Position Overview
As an HVAC & Refrigeration Service Technician, you will play a key role in upholding our reputation for service excellence. You’ll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial HVAC/R systems. This role requires strong technical skills, a customer-first mindset, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair HVAC systems including air conditioners, heat pumps, rooftop systems, and ventilation units, as well as refrigeration systems such as ice machines, walk-in coolers, and commercial refrigerators.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and safety inspections to ensure optimal system performance
- Install new systems, including planning and executing equipment layout, ductwork, and piping
- Provide outstanding customer service by clearly explaining repairs, answering questions, and ensuring satisfaction
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of services performed, including parts used and labor time, compliance with safety protocols, PPE usage, and proper refrigerant handling
- Stay up to date with industry developments through ongoing training and education
- Collaborate with the office team to ensure accurate scheduling, invoicing, and follow-up
- Assist with off-season tasks, including scrapping, shop and truck organization, and general maintenance projects
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in HVAC/R service
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
- Solid mechanical aptitude; experience in appliance repair or automotive/mechanical fields is a plus
- Familiarity with HVAC/R systems, tools, and practices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical schematics (preferred)
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- EPA certification and valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
