Position Summary
Gatsby Glass is seeking an experienced, dependable Glass Installer with at least 3 years of professional glass installation experience.
This is a hands-on position for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in quality craftsmanship and can safely and accurately install custom glass products in residential and commercial environments.
Projects include frameless shower enclosures, shower doors, mirrors, glass railings, glass walls, countertops, architectural glass, and related hardware and metal components.
The ideal candidate can work independently, solve problems in the field, communicate professionally with customers, and complete installations correctly the first time.
What You'll Do
- Install frameless and framed shower doors and enclosures
- Install mirrors, glass railings, walls, countertops, and other custom glass products
- Install channels, hinges, brackets, handles, metal framework, and related hardware
- Measure, layout, level, align, drill, anchor, and secure glass and hardware accurately
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, specifications, measurements, and installation instructions
- Troubleshoot installation challenges and make appropriate field adjustments
- Ensure completed work meets company quality standards, manufacturer specifications, and applicable safety requirements
- Protect customers' homes and businesses during installations
- Maintain tools, equipment, truck inventory, and installation materials
- Complete required job documentation and photos
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite
- Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, builders, and team members
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant glass installation experience
- Experience installing custom shower glass, mirrors, architectural glass, or similar products
- Strong measuring, layout, drilling, leveling, and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of glass installation tools, hardware, materials, and equipment
- Ability to read drawings, measurements, specifications, and installation instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Dependable, professional, and self-motivated
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screening
Preferred Experience
- Frameless shower enclosure installation
- Custom residential or commercial glazing
- Glass railings and architectural glass systems
- Metal framework and architectural hardware
- Construction, glazing, fabrication, or carpentry experience
- Vocational or technical training in a related trade
- Manufacturer or industry certifications
Physical Requirements
Candidates must be able to safely perform the physical duties of the trade, including:
- Regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, pushing, and pulling
- Lifting, carrying, positioning, and holding glass and materials weighing 50 pounds or more, with assistance when appropriate
- Working safely from ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and elevated areas
- Working in confined or restricted areas when required
- Driving a company vehicle to local jobsites
- Working a flexible full-time schedule based on project requirements
