The role
We are looking for a Protestant Music Director to lead contemporary worship services at Whiteman Air Force Base. This is an opportunity for a skilled musician to use their talents to support service members, families, and the wider chapel community through inspiring worship.
You will work closely with the Senior Protestant Chaplain to plan services, select appropriate music, lead rehearsals, and direct the worship team during Sunday services and special events.
Key Responsibilities
The Protestant Music Director will:
- Lead contemporary Protestant worship services through vocal performance and musical direction.
- Select and prepare worship songs in line with service themes and chaplain guidance.
- Direct rehearsals and support worship team members in preparing for services.
- Build and encourage a strong team of volunteer musicians and vocalists.
- Assist with musical equipment setup and preparation when required.
- Work with chapel staff to support worship events and special services.
- Use worship technology, including projection systems, computers, and music software.

The person
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience leading or supporting contemporary Christian worship.
- Strong vocal ability and confidence performing in front of a congregation.
- Knowledge of Protestant worship traditions and music styles.
- Ability to lead musicians and vocalists of different ages and experience levels.
- Experience with worship planning, arranging, and directing music.
- Ability to play an instrument such as piano or guitar is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with sound systems, worship projection software, or music technology.
- Ability to provide a resume and short performance video demonstrating vocal ability.
