Job Summary
The Tradesman Electrician provides leadership and technical support to a team of apprentices on industrial electrical projects, ensuring all work is performed safely, accurately, and in compliance with project specifications, codes, and company standards. This position oversees daily workflow, verifies adherence to blueprints and schematics, and ensures materials and installations meet quality expectations.
Working under the general supervision of a licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician, the Tradesman performs field installations, equipment terminations, and system testing with precision and efficiency. They coordinate closely with the Foreman, Superintendent, Project Manager, and other project stakeholders to maintain progress and resolve issues in the field.
A Tradesman Electrician has completed a minimum of four years as a licensed apprentice and is eligible to test for the Journeyman Electrician license. Strong leadership, technical proficiency, and the ability to work independently while mentoring others are essential to success in this role.
ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES
· Installation & Maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment according to blueprints, electrical codes, and project specifications.
· Supervision: Lead and mentor Apprentices, providing guidance and ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
· Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and system functionality.
· Code Compliance: Ensure all electrical work adheres to national and local electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
· Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project documentation to plan and execute electrical tasks.
· Project Coordination: Work with Foreman and project teams to ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and meets project requirements.
· Material Management: Verify material orders, ensure accuracy, and manage stock to avoid project delays.
· Safety Oversight: Enforce and follow all safety protocols, ensuring the safety of the crew and job site.
· Communication: Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients regarding project status, issues, and updates.
· Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any changes made to the project.
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
