We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated licensed Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across various settings, including commercial, industrial, and construction sites. Your expertise will ensure that electrical infrastructure operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all relevant codes and standards. Duties
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as ohmmeters and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams to accurately execute installation and maintenance tasks.
- Work on construction sites performing wiring for new builds or renovations, ensuring adherence to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and safety standards.
- Diagnose electrical issues related to high voltage and low voltage systems, providing effective solutions promptly.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical infrastructure to identify potential hazards or failures before they occur.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as frame carpenters and general contractors during renovation or construction projects.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspection reports, schematic updates, and compliance documentation.
- Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex electrical systems involving industrial controls and automation components like PLCs.
- Assist with the installation of low voltage systems including security alarms, communication lines, or building automation controls.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company policies; participate in safety meetings and training sessions regularly.
- Support maintenance person tasks related to electrical repairs or minor construction needs on-site as required.
Skills
- Proven experience as a licensed Journeyperson Electrician with a strong background in industrial and commercial electrical systems.
- Extensive knowledge of the NEC (National Electrical Code), safety standards, and best practices for high voltage and low voltage installations.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals for complex electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation control systems.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as wire strippers, screwdrivers, pliers; power tools including drills and saws; as well as testing equipment like ohmmeters.
- Ability to work confidently on construction sites performing wiring for new builds or renovations while adhering to safety protocols.
- Experience with renovation projects involving framing carpentry or general construction activities is a plus.
- Knowledge of schematics related to industrial controls and automation components; capable of troubleshooting sophisticated electrical circuits efficiently.
- Strong understanding of high voltage (HV) systems along with low voltage (LV) wiring requirements for building automation or security systems.
- Demonstrated maintenance person skills for minor repairs or adjustments around the job site.
- Excellent blueprint reading skills coupled with attention to detail when interpreting technical drawings.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining high safety standards.
