WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Journeyman should be a outside linemen, inside wiremen, installer technician, electrician, or Master Electrician who has been engaged at the trade for at least five (5) years. The Journeyman will be responsible for performing journey-level electrical duties in the diagnosis, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment.
- Perform lighting preventive maintenance (PMs)
- Perform battery preventive maintenance (PMs)
- Execute rack moves, deployments, and decommissioning
- Repair and maintain security gates
- Conduct inverter testing on battery backup systems for lighting
- Support team scheduling and material requisition
- Complete receptacle panel installations and retrofits
- Perform MTS board validation, actuation, and installation
- Develop and maintain electrical panel schedules
- Maintain and support spill prevention kits for generators and substations
- Conduct annual heat trace testing and perform installations/retrofits
- Provide electrical project support as needed
- Address will-call issues (non-scheduled, high-priority work), typically data center floor-related and cooling-related issues
Education or Equivalent Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the electrical trade
- Unlimited Electrical or Contractor’s License (required)
- Formal training in an approved vocational school in the fundamentals of the trade
