Job Summary
We are seeking a licensed Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic construction and industrial projects team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems across commercial, industrial, and renovation sites. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to interpret complex schematics and blueprints. The ideal candidate will possess extensive electrical experience, including working with low and high voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and NEC (National Electrical Code) compliance. Duties
- Install, wire, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and renovation environments using hand tools and power tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure precise installation and maintenance of electrical components.
- Work with low voltage and high voltage systems, ensuring compliance with NEC standards and safety protocols.
- Utilize testing equipment such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues accurately.
- Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in automation processes.
- Collaborate with construction teams on site to coordinate electrical work within project timelines.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or failures.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including schematics modifications and system updates.
- Assist with renovation projects by framing carpentry or handyman tasks as needed to support electrical installations.
- Ensure all work complies with local codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
Experience
- Valid license as a Journeyman Electrician with proven experience in industrial or commercial settings.
- Extensive electrical experience on construction sites, including new installations and renovations.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Hands-on experience working with low voltage systems, high voltage wiring, and NEC standards.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) programming and troubleshooting.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as wire strippers, screwdrivers, pliers; power tools including drills and saws.
- Experience working with ohmmeters for circuit testing and diagnostics.
- Background in construction or renovation environments with a focus on safety practices.
- Ability to interpret technical schematics accurately while adhering to deadlines.
