Position Summary
We are hiring a seasoned Journeyman Electrician (E5-6) to support a commercial school renovation project in Fort Worth. This role requires a highly skilled electrician who can lead a crew while actively participating in hands-on electrical work. The primary scope includes redesigning and upgrading lighting within a large atrium staircase, followed by ceiling fixture installation throughout the space.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Install, modify, and service electrical wiring systems, equipment, and components
- Review construction drawings and technical plans to execute installations accurately
- Plan layout and routing for conduit and wiring systems
- Bend and install conduit using both manual and hydraulic equipment
- Perform trenching when required using manual or powered equipment
- Work at elevated heights using scaffolding and mechanical lifts
- Ensure all circuits are properly de-energized and locked out before performing work
Project-Specific Details
- Complete full lighting reconfiguration within a multi-story staircase atrium
- Transition to installation and alignment of overhead ceiling lighting fixtures
- Scaffolding certification required for staircase lighting work
- Lift certification required for ceiling fixture installation
- Safety harnesses will be provided on-site
- Group certification classes may be arranged for candidates needing required credentials
Qualifications
- Strong conduit bending skills
- Experience installing and setting transformers
- Willingness to complete a hands-on skills assessment
- Scaffolding and lift certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Physically capable of lifting materials and working at heights
- Must successfully pass a background screening and drug test
Pay: $21.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
